Xcelerate Academy is a well-established weekend tuition centre based at Landau Forte College in Derby. We specialise in delivering high-quality, small-group andone-to-one tutoring for KS3 and GCSE students across Maths, English, andScience.Our sessions are structured, focused, and designed to build confidence andimprove academic outcomes. With small class sizes, tutors can deliver targeted teaching in a supportive, engaging environment.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and reliable English Tutor to join our team from February 2026. You will deliver engaging small-group sessions with a focus onEnglish Language exam preparation. You’ll be expected to bring or prepare yourown teaching resources, aligned with the curriculum and student needs.
Requirements
+ Experience working with secondary school students (KS3/GCSE)
+ Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain clearly
+ Organised, dependable, and conTdent in leading small groups
+ Able to create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages engagement and builds student confidence
+ Passionate about student development and academic progress
Responsibilities
+ Teach KS3 and GCSE English Language (Literature experience welcome)
+ Deliver well-paced, engaging lessons for small groups
+ Monitor student progress and provide occasional feedback
+ Help build a confident, motivating learning atmosphere
+ Sessions Takes placeplace on Saturdays and Sundays with morning and afternoon slots available
+ Once agreed, your time will remain consistent each week to ensure continuity for both you and your students
